The issue addressed in this article is that now students in Rhode Island are struggling with the reading and math tests that are given to them.
What was main point of article?
That they feel the reason for this is that RI provides more "help" for children up to the 5th grade and then after that you are on your own ornot getting as much help.

We feel that this is stupid because they should continue to prepare students throughout middle school, up until the 8th grade.
